The *.avi files are corrected for orientation (so you don't have to tilt your head to watch them) and converted to the modern MPEG-4 format. They're also far smaller (and slightly lower quality) than the original *.mov files in Apple QuickTime format which came straight out of the camera.

These were converted/rotated with mencoder under Linux.
