- Transient Stale NFS errors (ubuntu, linux 2.6.17) 2006-10-15
- A kernel-based NFS bug, worked around by adding the option
no_subtree_check to that filesystem's export line in /etc/exports
-
- Hostname refuses to be set to the FQDN (ubuntu), even via the system
admin GUI. 2006-10
- Ubuntu attempts to attach the main FQDN to the local loopback
interface, mysteriously to 127.0.1.1 in particular, but stupidly
accepts the one for 127.0.0.1 first unless manually ordered with
the 127.0.0.1 line first - which the GUI tool will casually
break. Reorder /etc/hosts manually with the *.1.1 line first,
and then avoid the associated GUI interface.
